"Server referral" error at DialKeys launch
DialKeys shows a "Server Referral" dialogue in Windows Vista.
Windows Vista requires software to bear a special identification mark in order to access sensitive portions of the operating system. Those identifications are only valid for a certain period, and as such need to be updated from time to time.
If the "Server Referral" Dialogue appears when trying to launch DialKeys, please upgrade to the most recent version of the DialKeys application available in thedownload section.
Upgrading the ‘DialKeys’ version found on your System.
The upgrading process, involves un-installing the currently installed version of DialKeys first, and then installing the new version:
- Un-installing the current version.
- In the Start Menu click on the control panel.
- Click on Control Panel.
- In XP select Add or Remove Programs in Vista click on Program and features.
- Select DialKeys and click on uninstall.
- Now follow the instructions for the DialKeys un-installation process.
- Installing the new version of DialKeys.
- Download the latest version of DialKeys available at download section.
- Double click on the downloaded file and follow the instruction display during the installation process.
- Once the installation if finished, go into the Start Menu and under the directory DialKeys click on DialKeys to start it.
**During the Upgrade process, the un-installation might requires the original installer or fails**
During the upgrade process, the uninstallation requires the original installer or fails.
If the current version of the installer does not want to uninstall DialKeys, please download this small utility,
ForceUpgrade.exe.
Launch ForceUpgrade.exe, select the new version of DialKeys and follow the on-screen instructions.
